Lane Match-ups – Taipei Assassins

Top -
Mundo has a rough time against Ryze early on. He will get bullied in lane but at least he will be able to regen over time and get CS with cleavers. Once Mundo gets Spectre's Cowl things will turn around a lot and Mundo will be really safe in the lane. It will be hard for Mundo to get in against Ryze with Ryze's snare, but if he can land a cleaver during a gank, Mundo and Lee should be able to kill Ryze. Mundo's biggest focus will be to farm up and be a massive tank in the late game.

Mid -
Syndra has a pretty easy time against Orianna. She has much higher kill potential, especially at 6, and has decent wave clear. Though Orianna will push the wave into Syndra faster, Orianna cannot go all-in against Syndra unless ahead. Syndra stun + burst will deter Orianna from using her higher sustained damage. Just needs to make sure she does not get out-farmed.

Bot -
Lucian and Janna are at a disadvantage in lane. While Lucian is normally a bully, Caitlyn's range means she will always be able to trade and with Nami, they will out-sustain. Potential to out-trade with Janna shield, but is not up enough to consistently stop Caitlyn poke. Should look for a lane swap and just play the 2v1 lane game.

Jungle -
Even match-up, high farm decent early ganks on both sides. Lee Sin should look to for kills on Orianna primarily, in conjunction with Syndra stun. Otherwise, he is not going to have much opportunity before level 6.

Lane Match-ups – Star Horn Royal Club

Top -
Ryze has a major advantage over Mundo and while it will be hard to kill him, Ryze will be able to bully him away from lane while having almost 0 fear of Mundo being able to fight back and kill him. Ryze should be very happy farming up and scaling his mana items safely and potentially getting a kill with Khazix ganks.

Mid -
Orianna cannot fight Syndra in an all-in, but will be able to easily farm and keep Syndra in lane, or against her tower. With the protection of the ball, she will also be able to farm jungle camps while Syndra is occupied. In all-in engagements, while Orianna will lose and be pushed back, it is unlikely that Syndra will be able to kill her, only bring her low. As long as Orianna is wary of ganks and does not take poke from Syndra, she will scale into her strong mid-late game team fighting.

Bot -
Big advantage over Lucian/Janna. Should expect a lane swap. If a 2v2 lane occurs, Caitlyn should bully Lucian at every opportunity and let Nami sustain her through any returned damage. Not too much else to say. Heavy long range pressure and strong push potential with the safety Nami provides against all-ins.

Jungle -
Even match-up. See it a lot. Khazix does have the advantage of scaling later into the game. Farm farm farm, and try to mirror Lee Sin if he goes to gank. Best option for your own gank will be top lane, before Mundo can get too tanky (around level 11).

Team Compositions/Strategy – Taipei Assassins

*Win Condition – Use your mid game power to generate a lead and force SHR into Syndra/Lee Sin picks.

TPA's team does not have any one strength or weakness. It is very solid, being strong than SHR's in the mid game but it will fall off late. TPA need to use their mid game power to force jungle objectives and lure SHR into areas that Syndra can get stuns in. Heavy vision control and dedication to neutral objectives will be key to the win, and as soon as they can get a lead, TPA must turn that into even more mid game power, eventually just over-running SHR's late game composition.

Team Compositions/Strategy – Star Horn Royal Club

*Win Condition – Survive and scale into the late game.

SHR has a very heavy late game team with a very defined mid-game lull. Caitlyn, Ryze, and to some extent Orianna all experience dips in power during the mid-game. Ryze needs to stack his mana, while Caitlyn and Orianna, while ok at 2 items, really need 3 to shine. SHR will have to survive until the late game and should then be in a position to dominate. They must not fall too far behind TPA and stay relevant against the lead that TPA will most likely gain. Fast push early by Caitlyn to get towers will help a lot in keeping SHR relevant, while their solid wave clear will at the very least, delay tower pushes.

Game Notes -

Normal 2v1 start with double jungle.

Orianna looks to get some early extra gold from wraiths, but runs into Mundo and Lee Sin. Flashes too early, and then gets stunned by Syndra flash stun.

SHR fast push bot turret and TPA respond by sending Mundo and Janna to defend, SHR 4 man the bottom tower though and then head towards dragon. Stopped by TPA though.

Caitlyn moves top to start to push top tower and SHR take it quickly while TPA take dragon.

Caitlyn uses her Q too early when trying to steal blue, unable to use it when she needs to burst it

The game speed slows way down after this, lanes simply farming, everyone aiming at their item spikes.

SHR gank Mundo top since he is stuck without a tower safety net.

SHR stay too long at the bottom turret, Caitlyn gets caught and then a major fight ensues. TPA go 4v2, Take blue buff and take dragon.

TPA now have a decent gold advantage and item spikes and should start pushing turrets extremely hard. They get top and later mid, but take a long time to do anything more. By the time they start pushing T2 turrets, they have lost their item spike advantage.

Khazix makes a good leap over the jungle wall to slow down TPA from safety.

TPA slowly get some damage onto the mid and bot T2 turrets.

10 minutes after the last T1 turret, TPA finally get a T2 turret.

Nami tries desperately to catch Lucian, wastes her ultimate. TPA try a very awkward baron, and are forced off. They lose their vision and SHR take the mid T1 turret.

Orianna uses her ultimate for wave clear/hitting Lucian. Does stop the push against the tower but does not do much else.

Lucian gets chunked by Caitlyn and is forced to base. SHR get a free dragon.

Skirmish ends up with SHR having 2 low members. TPA do not follow it out. Mundo could have teleported behind SHR and forced a fight in what would essentially be a 4v3.

Lucian trades his life for Nami. Very bad positioning and flash. SHR start baron and force TPA to fight. SHR get baron and 2 kills for 0. Having their ADC up and TPA not having Lucian is huge.

TPA get a great Lee Sin ultimate onto Orianna and they get the kill, turning it into mid inhibitor turret, turns into a trade when SHR take mid T2.

TPA force SHR to the side and rush mid, but SHR flank and catch out Syndra, easily killing her. Syndra does barely any damage to Ryze, having never gone Void Staff.

SHR bide their time, pushing slowly until Ryze gets his flash back up, then dive TPA under their bot inhibitor turret, instantly killing Lucian. SHR are able to take the inhibitor. This breaks open TPA's base and will give SHR total control of the game.

TPA set up a trap, but Janna tornado really gives it away.

SHR take the mid inhibitor easily.

SHR head to baron, TPA commit to the fight. Fight goes 4 for 3 in SHR's favor, and Caitlyn is alive to take out TPA's base.

Item Notes -

Lee Sin buy's Mercury Treads with his Triple Kill. I feel it could have been spent on better combat stat.

Syndra goes Zhonya's second. With Mundo and Lee Sin up front, and no heavy dive on SHR, I feel that this is not the best choice. Deathcap or Deathfire would be better.

Janna gets Mejai's instead of Aegis/Locket. -_-'

Lucian buys Last Whisper when there is 0 armor on SHR. Blood Thirster would have been way better.

Lucian goes Cutlass as his last item instead of something defensive. GA would be great. Even a Phantom Dancer would be better at this point than building towards BotRK.

Syndra never builds a void staff. Really needs it against Khazix and Ryze. Ryze is able to build double armor items to fight Lucian since a single MR item is good against Syndra without Void Staff.

End Game Notes -

There were a lot of bad item choices made by TPA's side.

TPA had the opportunity to win the game but failed to use their advantage right.

Orianna die early really hampered SHR's ability to fast push mid lane.

What TPA should have done -

TPA's team composition was fine and did its job well, but they did not press their advantage hard enough. After the big fight on bottom lane, TPA was solidly ahead and needed to use this to push hard.

The first problem at this point, was Lee Sin not properly spending his Triple Kill gold. He could have grabbed a Giant's Belt instead of Mercury Treads and used that for tower dive pressure. After grabbing this, hard push the top and mid turrets to get them down, force plays with Lee Sin flanking for ultimates. Once the outer ring is down run a 1-3-1 split-push and force down a turret, especially if you can rotate to where Ryze is as he has the worst clear.

The other option is to run this same style, but maybe 3-1-1 and take control of the top side jungle of SHR. Starve them out of vision, then run baron baits, catching SHR out in the jungle with Syndra stun.

Item choices were also very bad. Lucian with no defensive item, Janna getting Mejai's and not Locket/Aegis, and Syndra going Zhonya's first and never building a Void Staff.

In the end TPA took too long to make moves and lost out on their power spikes, item spikes, and gold edge.
