Lane Match-ups – Cloud9

Top -
Even match-up. Lulu has slightly better poke potential but Ryze's damage if he reaches Lulu is superior. Kill potential lies on Ryze later on while Lulu is able to whittle Ryze down and keep him at his tower. Ryze will need to use his all-in strength come level 6-7 to push Lulu back. The more damage Ryze can get onto Lulu, the less safe it is for her to push.

Mid -
Yasuo should have a good time against Syndra, able to dash away from Syndra's skills. Staying close to creeps and using Wind Wall and dashes will be essential. Kill potential will be on Yasuo, especially after level 6. However if his Wind Wall is ever down, Syndra will gain kill potential onto Yasuo. Ganks from Lee Sin at level 6 will be extremely effective

Bot -
Tristana/Janna is a losing lane against Lucian/Thresh. They can expect to be bullied early on as well as lose all-in fights against KBM. C9 should initiate a lane swap to keep them out of this unfavorable match-up. If they do 2v2, then Janna will need to get early harass onto Thresh, and then C9 will have to back off and concede the lane, farming from safety of turret once the second creep wave reaches lane. With little to help out a gank, they will also be at a disadvantage when the junglers come into the equation.

Jungle -
Lee Sin will slightly be able to out-farm Jarvan and should seek to do so. Especially in a lane swap scenario. Reaching level 6 and setting up Yasuo will be huge for C9. Alternately, a gank agaisnt a pushed Lulu will be worthwhile. Jarvan will have the end the initial start of ganks, but a well played counter-gank can put C9 ahead. Look to stop Jarvan from ganking mid after the initial buffs.

Lane Match-ups – Kabum! E-Sports

Top -
An even lane against Ryze. Lulu can poke from a greater range, but must respect that Ryze will pump out more damage from close range. Aggressively pushing Ryze into tower would offer the most benefit to Lulu, however it will require solid warding to make sure that Lee Sin does not catch her in a gank.

Mid -
Syndra, like Orianna will have a awkard time against Yasuo. Landing harassment will be hard, as Yasuo can dash away from most of her skills. Predicting Yasuo's dash through creeps and landing poke that way will net great rewards. Be ready to deal with Yasuo's wall and do not be afraid to flash past it at level 6, if there is kill potential. Once junglers reach level 6, be very wary of ganks from Lee Sin and keep up wards against him.

Bot -
A good bully lane against Tristana/Janna. This match-up will be superior for KBM and they should look to take advantage of it from level one with aggressive flays and Q's from Lucian. Without sustain, the damage will stick. Expect a lane swap from C9, and unless there is a clear strategy on gaining a lead by staying bot, KBM should look to catch the lane swap and meet with C9's duo lane from the very start. Great ability to get Jarvan in on a gank.

Jungle -
Jarvan will farm slightly slower than Lee Sin and cannot fight him 1v1, however getting to ganks is a lot easier for Jarvan. Watch how the lanes match-up. Go top if Lulu is not pushed, otherwise try to get some early pressure onto Yasuo. Plan to gank bottom around level 4/5 and then move onto dragon.

Team Composition/Strategy – Cloud 9

*Win Condition – Do not fall behind, avoid bad lane match-ups and scale into the late game. Make plays with Lee Sin, especially with Yasuo at level 6. Once scaling has occurred, push or split-push and pressure turrets for the win.

Cloud9's team is really looking to avoid any shutdowns early and scale up into the late game. Tristana/Ryze/Yasuo all scale insanely in the late stages of the game. Janna and Lee Sin provide the much needed power during the early mid-game, especially if they can setup Yasuo. Cloud9 needs to go even through the early laning phase, focus on Yasuo's strength with Lee Sin mid and use that to delay/carry into the late game where the triple late game threat from Cloud9 will take over.

Team Composition/Strategy – Kabum! E-Sports

*Win Condition – Use the early gank potential of Jarvan and the strength of the mid and bottom lane to generate an early lead and slowly progress it into a growing advantage.

KBM has drafted a stronger early game team than C9. There is a definite advantage in the duo lane and KBM needs to make sure they find the match-up. Jarvan needs to use his solid early ganking abilties to burn a flash in one or preferably multiple lanes (Ryze/Janna preferably) and then return for the gank at level 6. Lantern ganks with Thresh will be extremely effective. Once KBM is able to generate a small lead, they should turn it into vision control over dragon and look to secure it. Having done so, they should continue to bully lanes, putting pressure in everyone while keeping up vision to prevent Yasuo from taking control of the mid game. Overtime the gold lead should grow and KBM will win from the growing advantage.

Game Notes -

Kabum decide to 2v2 with top/support, leaving Lucian bottom alone.

Lucian does not effectively freeze or fast push the bottom lane, and is unable to deny Ryze creeps.

Despite being caught out after good harassment onto Lee Sin, Jarvan makes a great flash away from Yasuo to keep himself alive.

Because Ryze has lost nothing in the bottom wave, he is able to bully Lucian.

A good Jarvan gank burns Ryze's flash.

Good hook by Thresh top.

Thresh makes god-like plays top lane getting hooks and making saves against Yasuo roam. Earns a good lead for Syndra in mid lane.

KBM make a good move to dragon, however Lee Sin is able to steal. (someone needed to block Lee Sin's Q) but they do get the first blood kill on Lee Sin.

Jarvan ganks bot, burns flash from Janna. Should really return shortly after.

KBM attempts to put pressure into C9's Jungle

C9 separates KBM in the bot lane and gain 2 kills, Ryze tries to TP, gets stopped, but in doing so is able to get the kill onto Lulu for interrupting him.

Seeing Lee Sin top, KBM take their second turret, Mid lane with a 3 man squad. Ends up trading for bot lane turret.

Lulu gets pressure on the top turret, but takes 3/4 of his HP for no reason to the top turret, then TP to the dragon fight and dies instantly. Gives up the dragon to C9. Thresh also engaged early, using his ultimate way too soon.

A great Lee Sin ultimate gets a 3 man knock-up in top lane to prevent a gank. Saves Ryze and himself, but loses top turret. Meanwhile C9 take bot T2 after killing Lucian.

Kill trade in mid.

While pressuring mid, C9 catch Syndra and Jarvan moving down the wrong path to reinforce mid.

With C9 ahead, they start to make very methodical play to close out the game. Taking vision control and taking objectives, pressure KBM and pushing them out.

Item Notes -

Tristana and Yasuo build Avarice first. C9 relying on skill against KBM. These early pick-ups are bad.

An early Guardian Angel from Yasuo allows him to be the initiater for C9.

C9 respects KBM, and does not rush anything, continuing with the slow, safe, secure play.

End Game Notes -

Kabum! Played really well throughout the early game and laning phases, even coming out ahead in some matches, however the team play and overall game strategy from Cloud9 shut them down.

Experience is really the major factor here in this match-up and not too much else.

Cloud9 won by knowing how to play the mid-game, the vision game, the objective game, and the pressure game.

What Kabum! E-Sports should have done -

Kabum really did most things well, considering their experience. A messed up freeze on bot lane really set Kabum back and allowed Ryze to stay relevant like a 1v1 lane rather than in a lane swap lane. Vision control ended up a little lax, but that is also mostly due to experience. Another big point, was the early dragon. Kabum had a great setup for it, however they did not block the Q from Lee Sin and dragon was stolen.

The only other point I would really make, is that Jarvan should have returned for more ganks after burning flashes.

In the future, Kabum needs to recognize how they lost the pressure in this game and what happened to their vision control. Being able to understand this will allow them prevent it from happening again, and allow them to do the same to teams in the future.
